AMD Radeon™ HD 6870 Graphics

Peluncuran seri kartu grafis terbaru dari AMD yaitu Radeon HD 6000 semakin dekat. Dan untuk peluncuran awal, AMD akan meluncurkan dua seri kelas atasnya, yaitu Radeon HD 6870 dan HD 6850. Pada berita sebelumnya, dikabarkan bahwa kedua seri AMD Radeon tersebut akan menggunakan chip grafis dengan kode nama "Barts".

Nah, kali ini tampilan fisik salah satu variannya telah muncul. Gambar di bawah ini adalah tampilan fisik papan PCB Radeon HD 6870 tanpa pendingin yang terpasang.

Jika diperhatikan, penampilan fisik Radeon HD 6870 ini mirip dengan papan PCB yang digunakan oleh pendahulunya Radeon HD 5870. Namun ukuran chipnya lebih kecil karena menggunakan proses produksi yang lebih kecil. Kartu grafis ini memiliki dua buah konektor daya PCI-Express 6-pin, dua buah konektor DVI, satu buah HDMI, serta dua buah konektor mini DisplayPort.

Soal spesifikasinya, AMD Radeon HD 6870 akan menggunakan chip grafis Barts XT dengan kecepatan 900MHz, dan akan menggunakan memori GDDR5 yang berkecepatan 4200MHz. Lebar antarmuka memorinya masih sama dengan seri sebelumnya, yaitu 256-bit.

AMD Radeon HD 6870 ini akan diluncurkan dalam waktu 1-2 minggu ini dengan perkiraan harga sekitar US$ 250.
